The author's most famous work - the programmatic tract "The Last Relaxation - Handbook for Hochstaplers" was written as a Dadaist manifesto in exile in Lugano, and was published in 1920 and 1927. This writer, essayist and snob differs from other Dadaists, such as Tristan Tzara, Hans Arp, Richard Huelsenbeck, mainly because he believes that the absurdity and madness of war, disgust at the world, but also boredom and pleasure can be expressed through linguistic poetic imagination. Hochštäpler in this light-hearted manual is an impeccable stylist, moderate egoist, idler, often ironic, never a moralist, a snob who lives beyond his means, but below his level...
