Summary
Taiyo Matsumoto: Sani 4
Sei, Haruo and Kiko fight in a unique way against feelings of abandonment and rejection as they dream of a home of their own. This sequel is full of tragic plots that make us sad, because the children have to get acquainted with reality in a cruel way, which brings them the realization that their parents are full of flaws, that they will not come back for them and that nothing will ever be the same again. But these children are not ordinary, but resilient, wise and ready to dispel gloomy feelings with a joke.
Little ones achieve small victories over sadness day by day, and their joys are so sincere and real.
"False hope, disappointment, small things - these words can describe the fourth part of the Sunny manga." Matsumoto deliberately doesn't give us a chance to relax with our characters - parents only let their kids down when there's even a hint of room for improvement. And that's why we cling to the little things. For the love of a guy and a girl that stagnates, for the final gain of a new pencil case, for a huge ball of rice left in memory of a homeless person whom no one remembers (and who would eat the gum thrown at him): these are all small quasi-surrenders in an ocean of despair."
