CRUEL CITY is set in the Irish city of Limerick at the end of the nineties of the last century, and is inspired by real events from the criminal underworld of that once fishing town, now a high-tech center. The complex past of Ireland and the difficult life of its inhabitants can be read from the realistic prose and spoken language used by the authors to portray the not-so-long-ago everyday life of that society, which abounds in violence, intolerance, and discrimination (the anti-hero of this story, Jimmy Savage, is a member of the little-known tribe of Travelers, a more class-based than ethnic group of rejected nomads, who live in caravans on the outskirts of Irish cities, and are often associated with European Roma), prejudice, alcoholism and firearms, while Limerick itself is divided between two rival groups of organized crime. Jimmy Savage leads a small gang that the other two groups have tolerated - until now. Jimmy went too far and the devil took the joke. The authors of this original graphic novel bring an authentic story about gangs, drugs and the wild days of Irish crime.

DECLAN SHALVEY ...thought he was a face, because he draws the critically acclaimed graphic novel in sequels called INJECTION together with Warren Ellis. He also drew the comics MOON KING, DEADPOOL and ALL STAR BATMAN, he thinks he is very important right now, because he writes the text of the comic DEADPOOL VS OLD MAN LOGAN. What nonsense.

PHILIP BARRETT ...is a comic author, illustrator, portraitist and living legend. He has been publishing his comic strip Matter in samizdat since 2001, which is actually before the internet and everything else! He also illustrated a series of issues of WHERE IS LARRY? What a total leper.

JORDIE BELLAIRE ...is a two-time Eisner Award winner for coloring acclaimed projects like VISION, THEY`RE NOT LIKE US, PRETTY DEADLY, INJECTION, AUTUMNLANDS, etc., as well as mainstream hits like BATMAN, SPIDER-MAN, DEADPOOL, MOON KNIGHT and HAWKEYE. She is also the author of the text/co-author of the comic strip REDLANDS. Christ, that's a bunch of comics, isn't it?

EMMA PRICE ..is a graphic designer and illustrator from... uh, England. She wove her design magic for books like CRY HAVOC and ANGELIC.

SEBASTIAN GIRNER ...is a freelance comics editor (whatever that means) for books like DEADLY CLASS, SOUTHERN BASTARDS and THE GODDAMNED. He is also the author of the text/co-author of the comic SHIRTLESS BEAR-FIGHTER! Jeez, is everyone who worked on this book suddenly a goddamn songwriter?
