Iva Draškić, Vićanović, Bora Babić, Tihomir Brajović, Vladimir Zorić, Nebojša Petrović, Mina Đurić: Decades After: Serbian Literature 1991-2021
This collection of essays is characterized by a theoretical interest in the problems of (self) understanding of collective identities combined with research into the phenomenon of trauma. The latter was inevitable in a society involved in changes in the decades after the breakup of Yugoslavia. Therefore, the focus on identity and trauma is combined with the study of the shared cultural and artistic shaping of memory. One of the stated goals of the research presented here was the interweaving of literature and the social/ideological/cultural context, so the texts that appear in this volume confirm the validity of such an interdisciplinary focus. Indeed, the range of topics and issues covered attests to the expansion of research and writing reach into areas far beyond the usual reach of literary history and criticism, which is generally reserved for established writers and so-called mainstream literature. On this occasion, all texts have been translated into English for an international scientific audience interested in this field, primarily scholars of Slavic literature and culture, as well as readers and students of Slavic studies around the world. For those who are just getting acquainted with the wealth of Serbian literature, this publication can serve as a starting point that will direct their attention to various authors who created during the period in which this national literature achieved extraordinary results.
