Summary
Pierre Mortier: Nadin Petite ville dela Dalmatie, 6 Lieues de Zara - Veduta Nadina
Copper engraving
Veduta shows Nadin, today a small settlement in the hinterland of Zadar, which was occupied by the Turks in 1538 and under whose administration it remained until 1684. Veduta Nadina shows us a fortress that had a square shape, with square towers at the corners. Inside the walls was a strong bastion with a circular balcony - a lookout for observing the surrounding terrain. Like most of Mortier's vedutes, this one is taken entirely from Coronelli's atlas "Isolario dell Atlante Veneto". Publisher of Sanson, Jaillot, de Fer and de Wit maps.
