Summary
Views of Split from the works of Croatian writers of the 20th century
Editor: Jelena Hekman
Until now, entire libraries of books, novels, poems, travelogues, essays, etc. have been written about Split. And in this unique reader from the works of Croatian writers of the 20th century, many of them present themselves as exceptional and above all reliable and stimulating guides to this beautiful, ancient and famous city under Marijana. The selected authors are: Tonči P. Marović, Marko Uvodić Spliticanin, Marin Bego, Tin Ujević, Bogdan Radica, Jure Kaštelan and Veljko Barbieri, who will easily convince the reader that the atmosphere of Split, despite all the changes and passing of time - and even centuries - always remains the same. In the book, as an addition, there is also the work Splitska govorenja oliti Libar Marko Uvodić Splićanin from 1919. It is an interesting fact that this edition is not mentioned in any later published Libro or in any selection from Uvodić's works. The book contains detailed notes about the represented writers, and is illustrated with drawings by the famous Split painter Anđ Uvodić, the brother of Marko Uvodić from Split
