The late H.H. Arnason was a prominent art historian, pedagogue and museum director who for many years served as vice president of the art administration of the Solomon Guggenheim Museum in New York. He began his professional activity in academic circles, teaching at Northwestern University, the University of Chicago, and the University of Hawaii. From 1947 to 1961, Mr. Arnason was a professor and vice chairman of the Art Department at the University of Minnesota.
