Summary
Nikola Dedić, Ješa Denegri, Miško Šuvaković: Radical abstraction
Abstract painting and the limits of representation
The collection of texts Radical abstraction - abstract painting and the limits of representation was prepared by Nikola Dedić, Ph.D., Ješa Denegri, Ph.D. and Miško Šuvaković, Ph.D. with the aim of problematizing phenomena on theoretical and historical-artistic grounds of radical abstract painting in modern and postmodern art in Serbia during the 20th century. The history of radical abstraction, although discontinuous, although often classified on the margins of domestic art history, represents one of the most significant episodes in the development of critical, cosmopolitan and experimentally oriented modernist and postmodernist art here. In eighteen discussions, the limits of painting and representation are pointed out. Nikola Dedić wrote about Bogoljub Jovanović and Dragomir Ugren, Ješa Denegra about Milena Čubraković, Radomir Damnjan and the Belgrade "Mondrian Project", Miško Šuvaković about Eduard Stepančić, Mira Brtka, Dragoljub Raša Todosijević, Zoran Belić and Živko Grozdanić, and there are also texts about Koloman Novak, Zoran Radović, Gergelj Urkom, Group 143, Verbumprogram, Zoran Grebenarević and Neša Paripović.
