Georg Matthaus Seutter (1678-1757) German cartographer, geographer and map publisher. He was a student of Johann Baptist Homann, and later the main competitor of Homann's successors. He started working as a printmaker in Augsburg. Seutter engraved his maps himself, while his maps were mostly decorated by other artists who were often signed along the edges. In Seutter's workshop, although his maps are very similar to Homann's, they never reached his artistic value. imperia" from 1744.
