Franz Johann Joseph von Reilly: Der Sudliche Theil des Koenigreichs Dalmatien mit der Republik Ragusa / Map of Southern Dalmatia with the Republic of Dubrovnik
Franz Johann Joseph von Reilly (1766-1820), Viennese merchant, publisher and map maker. His most famous work is Schauplatz der Welt Atlas (1789-1791), which contains a large number of maps of Croatian countries. It was printed in Vienna in the graphic workshop of Ignaz Albrecht. His three maps of Dalmatia are kept in the state archive in Zadar. The map of the northern part of the Kingdom of Dalmatia includes the area from half of the island of Pag in the northwest, to the end of the island of Brač, that is, the Makarska area on the mainland, in the southeast. The map of the southern part of the Kingdom of Dalmatia shows the area from the island of Hvar in the northwest to the area south of Budva in the southeast. The third map shows the area of Dalmatia and part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The map of northern Dalmatia is kept in the university library in Split. Other important works are Deutscher Atlas (1796) and Atlas Univ. (1799)
