Istorija Janičarskog korpusa i njegovi kodeksi (Janičarski zakonik)

Sakin Orhan

Summary

Orhan Sakin: History of the Janissary Corps and its codes (Janissary Code)

The book consists of two parts. In the first, the place and influence of the Janissaries in the social and political life of the Ottomans, as well as the processes of their emergence and disappearance, are discussed in detail.
The second part is a linguistically modernized text entitled "History of Janissary Regulations" written in 1606. Although its author is unknown, it is one of the most important sources for historians and researchers dealing with the janissaries, from the pen of a janissary who rose to the position of scribe. This work is also at the service of those who are interested in this topic, but do not know the Ottoman Turkish language.
