Summary
Michel Chion: Audiovision
Sound and image on film
The intention of the author of this book is to show how in reality, in the case of an audio-visual combination, one perception influences another and changes it: we do not all "see" the same thing when we listen at the same time and we do not "hear" the same thing when we watch at the same time.
This book is both theoretical and practical reading. Since she describes and expresses the audio-visual relationship as an agreement, she proposes a certain way of observation and analysis, which is based on many years of pedagogical experience and which can be applied to films, television shows, video recordings... The main subject of this book is film, but she also considers special cases of television, videos, videos in a separate chapter.
