Summary
Silvio D'Amico: The History of Dramatic Theatre
Silvio D'Amico, one of the greatest Italian and world theater scholars, permanently indebted the world's theater culture to two huge endeavors, Theatrical Encyclopedia and History of Dramatic Theatre. The history of the drama theater is best known in the large illustrated edition in 4 volumes. D'Amico's son Sandro, also a theater scholar, prepared an abridged edition. The Croatian translation refers to that abbreviated edition, and in order to cover the most recent period of theater history, an appendix is also published that refers to the development from 1950 to 1968, written by theater critic and writer Raul Radice.
