Summary

Željka Čorak: Anesthesia

The poetry of Željka Čorak is a poetry of compression and permeation, which we dare not approach for fear of falling apart. Her words, like butterfly wings, seem so fragile and vulnerable; they know that they are being listened to from afar, but they are "like a dream at a standstill", "out of the way". That poetry heals the wounds of life. It will not change the world, but make a corner from which eternity can be observed; she made a small fire around, sometimes there was fire itself, sky and stars, tree and bread. And yet it is turned to inner experience in the sense of Bataille, from which it draws wealth. There are spiritual uplifts, addresses to the Creator, but also descriptive miniatures from everyday life, such as the song "Bauhaus" with the inventory of the entire store and where ordinary objects offered to the customer are transformed into surrealistic "objets trouves". Sometimes the realization of the contradictions and shortcomings of the world was expressed in a simple, yet intimate way, striving for purity. As an exercise in lucid initiation. It is poetry that achieves unity, but never forgets splitting, separation. He digs for his intimate guilt for the situation he finds himself in. She heals her wounds and buries her dead, but never loses her memory. It opens the door to words and existences that are denser, more intense.
