Muharem Bazdulj: Second book
Muharem Bazdulj (Travnik, 1977) is a writer, journalist and translator. He has published about fifteen books of prose and essays, including the story collections Druga knjiga (2000), Charolija (2008) and Heresy of nominalism (2014) and the novels Sowing salt (2010) and April na Vlašić (2011). For Drugu knjiga he received the Soros Foundation award for the best book of stories in Bosnia and Herzegovina. His books have been translated into English, German and Polish, and some stories and essays into fifteen other languages.
He works as a journalist for the Belgrade weekly Vreme and is a regular columnist for Sarajevo's Oslobođenja and Belgrade's Politika. In 2013, he received the award of the Society of Journalists of BiH for the best journalist in the print media category, and in 2014, the Stanislav Staša Marinković award of the Belgrade daily Danas for investigative journalism and journalistic courage, as well as the Bogdan Tirnanić award of the Association of Journalists of Serbia for the best commentary. He also translates from English, and among other things he translated a book of selected poems by William Butler Yeats and Mark Thompson's biographical book about Danilo Kiš Excerpt from the birth book.
He lives in Belgrade.
