Bushnell Candace

Summary

Candace Bushnell: Jungle in the City

When asked how "The Jungle in the City" can be compared to "Sex and the City", Candace Bushnell answered: "What "Sex and the City" did for sex and gender relations, "The Jungle in the City" does for success and power. Like "Sex and the City", this novel also exposes our prejudices about women, asks why women should not be successful like a man and how much does it cost her to achieve it?"

"Jungle in the City" is the story of three successful New York women (all three were on the list of the 50 most powerful New York women published by the New York Post) in their early forties, who know exactly what they want: power, wealth, love and passion.
Victory is a fashion designer faced with the question of whether it is more important for her to be rich or crowned with awards profession.
Nico, a ruthless editor of a high-circulation magazine, is the only one in a happy marriage, but longs for the passion that has long been absent between her and her smart and educated husband.
Wendy is a film producer in a constant battle with the powerhouses of the film industry and her unstable and unconventional family circumstances.

In short, "The Jungle in the City" is a novel about women who believe in themselves more than anything else it is not difficult to do in order to succeed.

Candace Bushnell (1959) comes to study in New York as a twenty-year-old. There he began his journalistic career. In the newspaper "New York Observer" he gets a permanent column, which grows into the book "Sex and the City" (1996). When the television series of the same name was made based on that novel, she was already a world-famous writer. It's no wonder that as soon as "Jungle in the City" was published in 2005, television companies started competing for the rights to film the novel. NBC won and began filming the television series, which should be completed in 2007. C. Bushnell is also the author of the book of stories "Four Blondes" (2002) and the novel "The First Blonde" (2004).
