Summary
John White: Gaal the victor
John White is a distinguished contemporary English writer (1924-2002). He spent the second half of his life in Vancouver, Canada, and taught psychiatry at the Canadian University of Manitoba.
He wrote numerous books on theological topics and contemporary Christian life, of which The Battle and The Other Face of Eros have been translated into us. White's works have been printed in more than three million copies and translated into more than thirty languages.
He started writing anthropological chronicles for his own children who encouraged him to do so - and after a few years they became the favorite reading of hundreds of thousands of teenagers and children. The last novel in the cycle, Death of the Lord of Darkness, was published in 2002.
This cycle of novels for young people is the author's only work of fiction, and it is characterized by an excellent style, extremely imaginative plots, unusually vivid characters and a subtle allegory that encourages reflection on man's relationship to God. If adults read the book, they will undoubtedly, reading about breathtaking adventures, recognize that theme and the allegory of eschatological biblical events and reflection on the eternal theme of the struggle between good and evil.
