Summary
Robert Ludlum: Holcroft's bargain
Noel Holcroft learns in a confidential conversation with a prominent Swiss banker that he is the son of Hitler's financial genius. He learns that his father and two other Nazis, in an act of remorse for Hitler's death camps, diverted huge amounts of money from occupied Europe through financial transactions and established a fund of 780 million dollars in a Swiss bank. This money should be awarded to the descendants of those killed in the Nazi holocaust, but only after 30 years have passed since the fall of the Third Reich. Noel's life changes fundamentally, and the guiding thought in his life becomes: "The debt must be paid back." Death follows all his actions, because the testament also has its own dark background. It is hard to escape the impression that everything you read is not true.
