Summary
Vladimir Nabokov: Lolita
A novel by a Russian writer written in the United States of America in 1955. It is an intriguing and shocking story about the forty-year-old Humbert and his love for the twelve-year-old girl Dolores Haze. It is a story about a pedophile who exploits a minor, but at the same time about the powers of a twelve-year-old girl who, in fact, seduces an adult man and who is not her first love experience. As the writer states in the preface, the novel should not primarily be read in a socio-moral context, but primarily in a literary-allegorical one.
