Desetogodišnja Charlie McGee i njezin otac bježe od vladine agencije Dućan u čijem su tajnome državnom projektu Serija šest 1960-ih sudjelovali njezini roditelji – Vicky i Andy. But Dućan again wants the fruit of his murderous experiment. First they kill Vicky Tomlinson McGee.

Two films were made based on the novel The Lighter. Almost forty years ago (1984), a film of the same name was shot, directed by Mark L. Lester, and in 2022, directed by Keith Thomas.
