Summary
Omer Mičijević: Witnesses
The book is divided into seven cycles: Confrontations, Mother, Eternals, Vigils, Autumn '94, Faith, The beginning of the beginning and through the themes of suffering, persecution (poems about refugees), death, loss, pain, war and life in war, themes that defined the young man and significantly influenced his life, they question and describe their own experiences, encounters with people and witness a time in which evil becomes the dominant determinant, and the effort to save life, city and country from evil and criminals. Precisely because of all of the above, Mičijević does not write a reconstruction of the past, but records the present moment (it is about the time of the creation of the book 1991-1996) and the reader today has an insight into everything that happened, he brings the chronology of suffering, but not in the classic way, he observes life, himself and the people around him at the time of war through different prisms.
