Summary
Laurell K. Hamilton: The Fairy Princess I-III
Not long after the events of Twilight, the mortal fairy princess Merry Gentry, who is hiding in Los Angeles, is ordered by her aunt Andais, the immortal and unaccountable Queen of Air and Darkness, to compete with her cousin, Prince Cel: whoever can first have a child will win the throne of the Dark Court. But Merry doesn't manage to get carried away - and that's not her only problem. Unknown assassins are working on her head, her magical powers are getting bigger and more unrestrained, and now her aunt has also ordered her to return to the fairy world... Readers who met Laurell K. Hamilton through the previous two books about Merry Gentry, Kiss of the Shadows and All of Twilight, will know that this series has no equal on bookstore shelves today. Those who have yet to meet Laurell K. Hamilton might be surprised at how much sex and violence there is in this sequel. From the very beginning of the book, Merry's efforts to conceive lead her to bed with many lovers - with consequences important to the development of the increasingly complex plot - while Andais's sadistic murders and tortures belong to the ancient, archaic notion of the fairy world as a place of peril. Above all, however, stands the superb storytelling skill that Laurell K. Hamilton proves to be one of the most original authors of today's fantasy.
