Summary

Iben Dissing Sandahl: Play the Danish way

*The book is underlined in places with a ballpoint pen.

Discover why play is a key element of child development!

What if we broadened our understanding of child development by looking at it with an emphasis on self-expression and spending quality time together?
Today we invest too much time and energy in the educational foundations of child development instead of allowing children to they explore themselves and their surroundings. Carefree unstructured free play is not a waste of time. On the contrary, play is a valuable trial experience that offers children unlimited opportunities to create and express the infinity of their imagination.

This book deals with the question of why play is a key element of children's development and offers insight into the importance of play in raising resilient and healthy children. It is a practical guide for parents and educators on how to make play a part of everyday life.

"A powerful educational method...resilient, emotionally secure and happy children - in other words, exactly what we all strive for."
- MOTHER MAGAZINE

"I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to offer themselves and their children a chance for a happy life."
- MALENE RYDAHL, DANISH GOODWILL AMBASSADOR
