Summary
Cornelia Funke: Death by Ink
The final part of the World of Ink trilogy! Elinor is lonely because she has been abandoned by three loved ones: Meggie, now a girl, her father Mo and her mother Reza. They are in Ombra, a wonderful and very different world full of dangers. Reza is pregnant and wants to leave Ombra, and Meggie is in love with Farid and doesn't want to leave, just like her father, who in the meantime has come to love the Ink World. He wants to play his part to the end. Orpheus wants to get rid of Meggie's father and take over Ombra, so he sends Mortimer to the realm of the dead as a replacement for Lightfinger, whose story has not yet been fully told. "Why did Death make life so sweet? Why could the heart only love what it could lose?" The World of Ink trilogy, with more than five million copies sold worldwide and numerous literary awards, has become one of Germany's best-known cultural exports.
