Danijel Petković: The 83rd century of Vinkovci

"The catalog may not fully depict the development of Vinkovci in the last hundred years because we did not have access to a certain part of the material and we relied only on the material we had in the Museum. So for the future there remains a more serious project through which all the material we have in the Archive and in private collections would be examined. However, even with this relatively limited material, it was possible to show the development and declines in development Vinkovci through the last of their 83 centuries", points out Hrvoje Vulić, director of the Vinkovci City Museum.

And 100 years ago, Vinkovci was an extremely cosmopolitan environment, and the official declaration as a city on November 5, 1920 was only a formal decision because already in the second half of the 19th century, both in terms of population and in terms of amenities, Vinkovci had all the urban elements, with the fact that, if time is not counted, of ancient Vinkovci - Cibal, the first outlines of a town settlement began to appear around 1750, when they became the center of the 7th Brod border regiment.
