Excellently versed in the military history of the Roman Empire and relying on available sources and relevant literature, the author of the book has detailed Constantine's victories in civil wars, as well as campaigns against various barbarian tribes situated right next to the northern borders of the Roman Empire. These were military feats that place Constantine the Great side by side with the greatest military leaders of the ancient world - Alexander the Great, Hannibal, Pyrrhus, Caesar. The author did not fall into the trap of glorifying him uncritically, although, it must be admitted, if one wins so many battles and loses none, it is not easy to avoid justified eulogies. Assessments of Constantine's courage, composure and extraordinary military skills are sober and balanced. The result of such an achievement is a book that will be completely new and unknown to the majority of readers, even those who somewhat confidently think they know almost everything about Constantine the Great.
