The book by the university professor and proofreader of the Croatian language, Katja Bakija, deals with the history of the literary magazine, i.e. the yearbook "Dubrovnik", which existed in the middle of the 19th century, from 1849 to 1852. According to the author, "Dubrovnik" managed to maintain the continuity of Croatian literature, build a relationship with Dubrovnik's literary and cultural heritage, and most importantly, awaken awareness of the values and possibilities of the vernacular and creativity in the vernacular.
