The book New Split: monograph of the city of Split from 1918 to 1930 by lawyer and publicist Branko Radica was originally published in 1931. It is, above all, a valuable source of reliable factography that provides a wide range of data on all possible aspects of the demographic, cultural and economic development of Split at that time. Namely, in that period the city experienced a complete economic, urban and intellectual transformation and gradually took over from Zadar the role of the Dalmatian metropolis. Radica's work is excellently structured and written and represents first-class reading for all those interested in that period of Split's history. In cooperation between the publisher and the copyright holder, the language of the work has been adapted for the modern reader.
