Summary
Vladimir Umeljić: The Serbocide of the Croatian State 1941-1945.
This book is a kind of compendium, and the purpose lies, as always, in presenting and spreading the truth. The goal is to enlighten and nurture the culture of memory, both among Serbs and Croats, and among the world public. This is not only a debt to innocent victims, but only through historical truth can the bloody knot of Serbian-Croatian relations one day be untied. Only in this way will it give way to a civilized, tolerant and peaceful coexistence. This is the path that Germans and Jews took together after World War II. This was possible thanks to the willingness of the German side to honestly and ruthlessly face the historical truth about the worst part of their shared past. This example gives hope that Croats and Serbs will one day succeed in this.
