Jeffrey S. Rosenthal is a professor of statistics at the University of Toronto.
He was born in Scarborough, in Ontario, Canada.
He graduated in mathematics, physics and computer science from the University of Toronto at the age of 20.
He received his doctorate in mathematics at Harvard at the age of 24.
He became a full-time professor at the age of 29.
He received the CRM-SSC award in 2006, the SSC Gold Medal in 2013, was admitted to the Royal Society of Canada and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, and in 2007 he received the President's Award of COPSS, the most prestigious honor of the Committee of Presidents of Statistical Societies.
Both at Harvard and in Toronto, he received awards for his professorship.
