Summary
Martin Heinzelmann: Reports on translations and other sources on the cult of relics
At the center of the book are sources that report on translations (transmissions of relics) and other related forms of the cult of relics in the narrower sense. Translations have their literary reflection in a specific genre within the medieval hagiographic production, and the author deals with the demarcation and analysis of that literary genre. The author of the foreword to the Croatian edition, Marine Schumann, speaks of this book as a classic that has not at all lost its relevance due to recent research, since it provides a solid basis for dealing with this topic and defines scientific terminology in a reviewed and systematic manner in relation to that used by medieval authors.
