Sergei Bulgakov: On Gospel Miracles
Bulgakov, Sergey Nikolayevich, Russian priest, theologian, economist (Livny, Oryol province, July 28, 1871 – Paris, July 13, 1944). A professor of political economy in Moscow and Kiev, under the influence of the religious philosopher →Vladimir Sergejevich Solovyov, he rejected materialism and became a priest in 1918. In Paris 1925–39. professor at the Institute for Orthodox Theology. Published several important works on Eastern theology; his teaching about Sophia (heavenly wisdom) as the first lady of creation was declared heretical by the Moscow Patriarchate.
