Goričeva Tatjana

Summary

Tatjana Goričeva: It is dangerous to talk about God

It is dangerous to talk about God is Tatjana Goričeva's most famous book. It has been translated into 27 languages (English, German, Spanish, French, Greek, Polish...), experiencing a large number of editions in some of them (in German alone, this book has had 23 editions so far). It is a kind of diary of Gorič's spiritual opposition to the godless Soviet government, but also of her encounter with the West where she lived after she was expelled from the Soviet Union in 1980, due to the founding of the women's Orthodox movement "Maria". In the West, Goričeva actively preaches Orthodoxy, constantly gives lectures on religious and philosophical topics and participates in numerous scientific conferences. In 1988, the Soviet government allowed her to return to her homeland, where she continues to give lectures, strengthening the Orthodox faith in the people, and especially in the intelligentsia, becoming more and more involved in environmental movements and animal protection societies.
