Konstantin Nikiforov: From Serbia to Serbia

Konstantin Vladimirovič Nikiforov is a Russian historian, an expert in recent and contemporary history of Serbia and the Balkans. He graduated from the Faculty of History of Moscow State University (1982), received his master's degree with the topic "Foreign policy of the Principality of Serbia in the 1940s to the beginning of the 1950s" (1987), while the topic of his doctoral dissertation was "The Bosnian crisis and the position of Russia 1992-1995" (2000). Since 2004, he has been the director of the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He is the editor-in-chief of the Slovenian anthology. He taught at the Faculty of History of Moscow State University at the Department of History of South and West Slavs (2006-2020). He is the author of 220 scientific works, among which are "Records of Ilija Garašanin", "Between the Kremlin and Republika Srpska", "Serbia in the Balkans in the 20th century". He is one of the authors of collective monographs such as the History of the Balkans at the turn of the 20th century. He publishes works in Russian, Serbian, English, German, French, Romanian, Hungarian, Greek and Chinese.
