Summary

Tamara Malešev: Circles of Berlin 1936

Tamara Malešev's book sheds light on the fate of the athletes of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia who refused to greet the leader of the Third Reich, Adolf Hitler, with the Nazi salute - by raising his right hand at the official opening of the XI. Summer Olympics in Berlin in 1936. The author researched and collected relevant evidence about the events at the Olympics, but also deals with the lives and fates of Yugoslav Olympians, such as Vana Ivanović, Jovan Mikić Spartak, Dr. Veljko Narančić, Milan Stepišnik, Aleksa Kovačević, Jaša Bakov, Jelena Stojanović and others who participated in the Games.

Tamara Malešev is an Olympian, she was a member of the so-called "white national team" of FR Yugoslavia at the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992. Due to the sanctions of the international community, the Yugoslav Olympic team did not participate in the ceremonial parade at the opening of the Games.
