Regimes are often not overthrown by coups and violently, but quietly, by the arrival of new people, agreements and the gradual disintegration of the old class. Gepard is a novel about the transience of power, but also about the dignified defeat of people who know that history rarely favors individual destinies. It is an elegy about the end of a world, told calmly and with a bitter smile of those who realize that their time has passed, even though they are still alive.
