Summary

Veljko Klašterka: Sports fishing on rivers and lakes

Numerous black and white and color illustrations.

From the introduction:

In highly industrialized countries around the world, millions of people engage in sport fishing. In our country, too, the number of sports fishermen is growing rapidly. The question arises as to what moves these millions of serious people to believe and walk through valleys and canyons, to tread mud and silt along waters and rivers, to get wet in bad weather, to move in the hot sun or freeze in wind and storm. Individuals wonder if it is not cheaper to buy a kilogram or two of fish at the market with much less trouble and effort. It doesn't occur to them how a smart and business-minded person or a hard-working manual worker can waste so much time, spend money and energy for a kilo or two of fish that they often don't catch. The question arises, why is sport fishing so attractive for people in modern society?
Interest in sport fishing is a necessary consequence of increasing industrialization, faster pace of life and more complete mechanization of work. This reason determined the development of this sport all over the world, including in our country. It has been shown that the more industrially developed a country is, the greater the need for such a sport.
Man is a part of nature and is always bound to it by unbreakable ties. At the bottom of every man's heart lies the passion of the primitive hunter, who fed only on what he caught himself.
