Summary
Enes Ratkušić: The Secret of the Bosnian Staff
A novel that in a special way updates the Bosnian legend about the "grandfather's" staff, which was kept in Gazi Isa-beg's tekija in Bentbaša until its demolition in 1957, when all traces of it were lost.
The demolition of the Mevlevi tekija by the authorities of the time has another side in the novel. The act of vandalism was used as an opportune moment to save the "grandfather's" stick, which falls into the hands of a small group of experts, who in the act of rescuing it recognize their sacred mission.
In the thriller plot, the forces of darkness strive at any cost to get the stick, convinced that this is the most effective way and in fact the only way to conquer a country and its inhabitants, who have been defying attacks from all sides for centuries.
The other side, again, he believes that a stick in a God-fearing hand has miraculous power and that it should be preserved until the Savior appears.
The main hero of the novel, Mustafa, goes through numerous trials and in the end, thanks to his strong faith and the spiritual support of the wise, he succeeds in his plan, constantly bearing in mind the message that illuminated his paths and encouraged him to persevere.
