They depict kneeling figures of votaries, sailing ships or diseased parts of the body. All of these are votive images that have great significance in the Catholic world. In this monograph, the author, head of the Maritime Museum of the Institute of Historical Sciences HAZU in Dubrovnik, investigates this phenomenon.
