Comes from an important series made by the Venetian Theodoro Viero (1740 1819) which includes late 18th century fashion and dress.
Theodorum Viero: born in Bassano. Miniaturist, editor and engraver, trained under the Venetian engraver Niccol Cavalli. He publishes a significant number of engravings by great Venetian masters such as Canaletto, Tiepolo or Piazzetta.
Among his works, the "Raccolta Di Stampe Che Representano Figure ed Abiti di Varie Nazione" stands out, a series composed of figures of inhabitants of various parts of the world posing in their surroundings in their typical landscape costumes. The images correspond to people from Asia, Europe, North Africa, the Pacific Islands, and South, North, and Central America.
