They come from various sources, and especially from the books of Idriz Shah, which have been the source of Sufi stories for decades and which continuously inspire spiritual insights. Idriz Shah called these stories instructive to explain that they are a means of imparting wisdom that has been used in many religious and other traditions. The scope of these instructive stories is far-reaching, and they include various incidents, stories about meetings between teachers and students, biographies, myths, fairy tales and jokes.
