Summary

Alexander Lipski: Anandamaji Ma: Goddess Among Us

The Divine Mother, Anandamaji Ma (Nirmala Sundari Devi) was born on April 30, 1896 in Kheora, Bangladesh, then India. At the age of 12, her parents married her to a much older man, but he already recognized her divine nature on the first wedding night. He touched lustfully and a huge energy that could be compared to an electric shock entered him and completely transformed him. He realized that his wife was actually the Divine Mother who incarnated to save the whole world and since then he saw himself as Her disciple who should take care of Her and Her external needs and he did that until the end of his life. The Divine Mother, Anandamaji Ma, at the age of 21, began a "Sadhana Leela" (a continuous life of meditation, prayer, yoga and kundalini kriya and in 6 years she mastered all the spiritual paths, as was the case with Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. An inner voice would tell her what to practice and what images to imagine. Her yogic practices (kriya) manifested spontaneously, and she described them as happenings in a factory where different machines work automatically and in perfect order to produce a particular product... Sometimes tears would flow for hours, sometimes she would laugh or speak Sanskrit at a tremendous speed, sometimes she would roll in the dust or dance for hours, sometimes she would fast for a long time, and sometimes she would eat food alone that would be enough for eight or nine people... At the sound of devotional chanting, her body would become rigid, and she would even lose consciousness of her body and fall to the ground, sometimes her body would increase or decrease, and she could be seen spontaneously performing the most difficult yogic asanas and mudras... At the age of 26, she began a three-year silence (in 1922) taking only a crumb of food a day... At the age of 28, she stopped eating completely and the disciples put food in her mouth to keep the physical body alive. said that it is a state of GOD INtoxication, for which there is no worldly cure... During her life, Sri Anandamaji Ma never gave lectures and gave them her Divine presence (Darshan). On August 27, 1982, after 86 years on Earth, she left her body in Dehradun, India. divine trance.
