Amy Welborn: The Da Vinci Code Decoded
The facts behind the novel The Da Vinci Code
The hit novel The Da Vinci Code by author Dan Brown is currently the most read book in many countries, including Croatia, with over seven million copies sold. His film adaptation directed by Oscar-winner Ron Howard (Apollo 13, Mind of Genius) is also being prepared, and according to unconfirmed information, the main characters should be played by Russel Crowe and Kate Beckinsale.
The novel The Da Vinci Code has caused numerous controversies and polemics in the public since it openly attacks Christianity and claims that Jesus was an ordinary man married to Mary Magdalene with whom he had a child, that the Bible was forged, and Christianity as we know it today a historical fabrication by Emperor Constantine.
The book The Da Vinci Code Decoded presents an argumentative and well-founded response to these claims, and it also discusses other controversies presented in the novel, including those about the Holy Grail, the Templars, the secret society Priory of Sion, the hidden messages of the works of Leonardo da Vinci, etc.
