Iva Nenić: Violinists and musicians
In her book, Iva Nenić combines her previous interest and research, which moves through the networking of ethnomusicology, contemporary theories of ideology, performativity, gender, identity and difference. In her scientific work, the author initiates a discussion of the relationship between identity politics and music. Dedication to the topic of women, women who in history and today have taken on identities that are not considered feminine in stereotypical representations, and especially through music, as a performing practice and as a certain artistic and life ethos, the author has made a significant breakthrough, not only in the relatively small and underdeveloped field of gender studies in our area, but also in the broader theoretical and historical consideration of the position of women in Serbia and the Balkans.
