Dejan Ognjanović, Ivan Velisavljević: New footage
Extreme values of Serbian cinema
Starting from the position that the mention of Serbian cinema among young film buffs and audiences has been reduced to a few titles that are (too) often played on television, the organizers of this collection point out that their intention was to change such a situation and recall the directors who had the courage to walk untrodden paths, to experiment, research and they are taking risks.
The basic idea was to reexamine the heritage of Serbian cinema, with an emphasis on neglected, marginalized authors, titles and themes, and to see what of it can correspond with today's young people. The name of the project itself should also be read in this sense: New frames also mean a reframing of the history of Serbian cinema, a new angle of looking at topics and directors that younger film critics consider relevant today.
