Summary
Predrag Vajagić: Banovi danavske banovine
Due to the biographical approach, this book stands out from many other works on the history of Yugoslavia. The author did not write a lexicon with eleven biographies of the bans of the Danube Banovina, but used the careers of the bans as a means by which he showed the way of creation and daily functioning of one of the nine banovina. By analyzing their personalities, ups and downs, the author helped to understand important questions: why and how did the path from "administrative areas" to "banovina" pass and did these new administrative units solve the problems that caused them to arise? This solution ensured the book not only freshness, but also an opportunity to provide very precise and clear answers to the mentioned questions. Together with other methodological solutions, as well as rich archival material, this work is an example of how to approach an extremely sensitive topic such as the history of Yugoslavia.
