Summary
Juan Miguel Payan: Contemporary Spanish Film
Contemporary Spanish Film offers a series of conversations with authors of different generations and poetic orientations who, with the exception of Ricardo Frank, who died suddenly in 1998, are currently actively creating.
The book in a special and almost implicit way also deals with the context of the historical development of Spanish cinema - both on the poetic and the production level. - since some of the interviewed authors, such as Carlos Saura, were already established as directors during the dictatorship, while others, such as Alejandro Amenabar, cannot even remember Franco's rule, because they were born in the period of transition to a democratic social order.
