Summary
Sofija Andruhovič: Amadoca
In this great novel of Ukrainian literature, the author talks about different types of love in moments of crisis for man and for humanity as such, about memory and forgetting, about the incompleteness and constant changeability of human personality, about the untold stories that lie at the bottom of our memory. The novel combines three stories: from the time of the Second World War in a small town in western Ukraine, the events during the Soviet repressions, and the present, connected by the threads of fragmentary memory, pain and love.
