Summary
Enes Karić: Waiting for Europe
Enes Karić, professor at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences in Sarajevo - theological writer, translator, novelist, travel writer, editor of numerous anthologies of important Islamic topics and thinkers - is distinguished by extraordinary fertility, but also depth, seriousness and intellectual uniqueness and an individually recognizable approach to the most sensitive problems. In a time marked by inflexibility, collectivist fanaticism and exclusivity, the absence of self-reflection, Karić's texts, books, public speeches bring a precious tone and example of moderate reasoning, the art of differentiated and critical thinking, cultivated awareness of respect for others as a condition of our own spiritual identity. The texts on various topics and different discourses (lectures, essays, forewords, promotions, presentations, reviews, interviews), which are collected in this manuscript, illustrate and confirm all these qualities of the intellectual and writer Enes Karić in an extraordinarily plastic and suggestive way.
