Kolinović-Šenkvički, Gabrijel, Hungarian historian of Croatian origin (Šenkvice, Slovakia, 24. III. 1698 – Šenkvice, 22. XII. 1770). He was educated at the Jesuit Academy in Trnava. He worked in the administrations of many manors, and from the 1730s he was a county juror and royal attorney in Bratislava and Trnava. He wrote historiographical works, treatises, biographies, autobiographical records, genealogies, chronologies, travelogues and poems in Latin, Croatian and Slovak. During his lifetime, he published Remembrance of Josip Esterházy... (Posthuma memoria Iosephi Esterhazii..., 1754), and after his death the Great Chronicle of the Military Order of the Knights Templar... (M. Chronicon militaris ordinis equitum templariorum..., 1789) and the New Age of Hungary (Nova Ungariae periodus, written in 1741, 1790) were published. This work is one of the most important sources for the study of Hungarian history.
